Working within current e-publishing standards, we apply a professional graphic design approach in order to produce eBooks for our clients that offer enhancements such as videos, narration, music, fixed layouts and uniquely styled formats with respect to color and fonts. While we primarily design for the iPad, Kindle, and Nook platforms, we also produce elegant online eBooks that play on the web in any browser for PC & Mac computers, as well as, all Android tablets and smartphones.

Custom Websites, Video Production & Social Media Optimization

We produce custom websites, video productions, online learning programs, YouTube channels, and DVDs. While we can produce longer presentations, we believe shorter 2-3 minute videos work best. In respect to website optimization, YouTube videos are an excellent strategy for boosting search engine results since Google owns YouTube which also works hand in hand with Google+ for social media optimization. Some thoughts on eMagazines:

Our newest product is in the eMagazine, book space. Technology allows us to enhance all that we already do with embedded live interviews, short films and music. This is a cost effective way of getting tremendous bang for the buck and giving consumers a new and exciting way to look at content. We are already at work creating eMagazines, eNewsletters and eBooks. We would enjoy discussing your needs and how to customize for your target audience.

OUR PROCESS

We started the business in 1995 as a full-service custom publishing provider with the requisite skills to take a project from the conceptual through to production and distribution. We are extensions of internal marketing departments and work hard to make the partnership with our clients successful. To hand tailor each assignment, our model is to source the best talent for a project. We never bill for overhead but use one hundred percent of the resources for the creative product. Delivering on time and on budget is taken seriously. All team members at The Magazine Works understand the ultimate objective (effective efficient materials, happy clients and repeat business).

We offer a full range of services needed to produce a traditional paper-based magazine. It can be a one-time event or greater frequency. This also applies for books, websites and now, in 2013, ePublishing, Custom Video and Content Marketing.

Here is an overview of what we do when creating a custom magazine:

  • Strategy and immersion session:
    We open a two-way dialog with our client. We discuss everything from the
    budget, to the marketing and sales objectives, the desired look and feel of
    the piece.

  • Table of Contents:
    We provide a framework with which to filter all content and a sample of
    what the first issue might look like including some headlines, explanations
    and possible writers.

  • The Crux:
    Assign stories, select a designer, edit, research and proof read every sentence.

  • Final Production:
    Approvals are obtained every step of the way. Once the client has signed off
    on the content and design, we produce a final document suitable for uploading
    to the printer.

  • Press supervision

    With the same compelling content in print, we create E-books, eMagazines,

At inception we were plain and simple publishers but as times changed so did we. We started with paper-based magazines, books and newsletters and added website work. Because we pride ourselves on our immersion into our client’s business we’ve done selected advertising campaigns, media buying and placement, sales presentations, speech writing, collateral materials and consulting always with first-rate content and complimentary design.

What remains the same is a passion for good content and an eye for just the right design. We still possess the same journalistic skills and the same sharp strategic brains. We’re just adding some new tools and ways to reach more people. We will work till we get it right.
